The role:

Join the Senior Leadership Team at Kirk Balk Academy.

Kirk Balk Academy is seeking an exceptional Business Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is far more than an administrative role – it is a key leadership position that ensures the academy operates safely, efficiently and effectively, allowing our staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for every student.

As Business Manager, you will lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of operational services that are essential to the successful running of the academy. No two days are the same, and you will play a central role in shaping and supporting the academy’s future.

Working closely with the Principal and executive leaders, you will have responsibility for a broad range of non-teaching functions, including:

  • Financial transactional operations

  • Human resources

  • Estates and facilities management

  • Health and safety

  • Data protection

  • Compliance and statutory requirements

You will ensure that business operations are efficient, compliant and aligned with the Trust’s strategic priorities. You will also line manage a portfolio of support staff, providing leadership and guidance while acting as the academy’s lead for data protection and compliance.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds, or is willing to work towards, a recognised School Business Management qualification (or equivalent).

  • Has substantial experience in administration, human resources, facilities management or a similar operational role.

  • Is confident using technology and data to improve processes and inform decision-making.

  • Is an excellent communicator who can manage sensitive matters with discretion, professionalism and integrity.

  • Is highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
