We wish to recruit a General Teaching Assistant, Term Time Only, on a Fixed Term Contract until 31.08.22. We are seeking to appoint someone who is resilient, reliable, flexible and empathetic, to support the learning of all children and young people at Springhead School. Experience of working with children with special needs would be desirable, specific training can be provided for the suitable candidate. You may be asked to work across all areas of the school when required.
Springhead School is an all-age specialist school for cognition and learning – a community special school based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Our pupils have a wide range of learning needs including complex moderate, severe or profound learning difficulties or disabilities. We are registered for pupils aged between 2 and 19 years and many have a broad range of additional special needs such as autism, physical disabilities, complex medical needs or social, emotional and mental health issues, but all of which are combined with learning needs.
The school is committed to safeguarding the welfare of our children and young people and we have a robust child protection policy and recruitment procedures.
Referees will be contacted prior to short-listing and will be asked if they know of any child protection issues or allegations against you.
The school operates over three sites and you may be asked to work across all areas of the school as required. The post will be classroom based supporting the HLTA, Teacher and Headteacher in meeting the needs of our children and young people with special educational needs.
