What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong track record of supporting pupils with SEND and raising achievement
  • Hold the National SEND qualification (or be willing to achieve it within the required timeframe)
  • Demonstrate a secure understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching approaches
  • Lead and develop effective SEND provision across the school
  • Work collaboratively with teachers/support staff to improve outcomes for pupils with additional needs
  • Provide guidance, support and training to colleagues to enhance inclusive practice
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers and external agencies
  • Play a key role in safeguarding as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills

Holbrook Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Inclusion Lead (SENDCo) with a passion for ensuring every child can succeed. The successful candidate will lead SEND and inclusion across the school, working closely with the senior leadership team to ensure high-quality provision for all pupils.

Holbrook Primary School is a popular two-form entry primary school located in Horsham, with 420 pupils from Reception to Year 6.
